Lushan 2003 Expedition

19 April 2003 - 27 May 2003

Lushan Town, Ya'an County near Chengdu City, Sichuan Province

Lushan is an area of conglomerate limestone one hour south of Chengdu. Lushan is known to have a long cave, partially developed for tourism. It is reported to be complex, with multiple levels of both active and fossil development and the owner believes it is over 50 kilometers long. Lushan has minimal depth potential, but there are several potholes and depressions on the hills.

The primary aim is to establish contacts in Sichuan and open up a new area for international exploration. The expedition will survey and explore the Lushan showcave to determine its true length.
